I just bought a second hand Sanwa RD6000 radio set and spent last night charging it. This morning I plugged everything in on the bench and although the transmitter switches on there is no control of the servos at all!. When I first plugged the servos in they twitched but that is all I can get out of them?. Any ideas anyone or does it look like I have bought a bum set?.

      reciever

It is the same as the transmitter, in fact it came with it. Yes I am sure they are on the same channel as the crystals match channel 16. Both orange tags on them.

Its all about process of elimination..

Do you have a friend with another Tx to swap crystals in both Tx & Rx to see if they are at fault.

Then use his Tx Crystal and see if your Tx works his Rx, once you ruled out the crystals then its either Tx or RX just work your way around it....also I'm presuming here that the TX is in PPM mode and you have a PPM Rx, vice versa if your Rx is a PCM.

An Rx Battery would have to be near total death not to give you atleast some movement on the bench.

          radio set

I took the set bakc to the shop and they have checked it out and found the tranny isn't transmitting?. They are in touch with the Airtronics group at the moment and will get back to me by the weekend. Just my luck.

            Hi Mailee,

Just a quick question before you go too far down the road of getting this radio sorted, what band is it transmitting on?

The reason I ask is because the crystals you described as having an orange tag and being on channel 16 sounds to me like a 27mhz set maybe. Model aircraft use only the 35mhz band, in which the channel numbers range from 55 to 90.

The orange tag could just signify the fact that they are dual conversion crystals but it is certainly worth checking.

            Cheers,

            Pete.

              Sorted

I took the set back to the shop and they had it for a week, I went back in today and they have replaced the transmitter with another one and now it works fine. They said there was a problem with the tranny not giving out a signal??. Well I am a happy bunny now and saving hard for my new zoom 400.
