When I moved to the 8FG I got interested in tweaking stick tension and length, and found that to be really comfortable, I needed long sticks with nice big tops (I'm a pincher). That lead me extend the sticks to their maximum length and add a skid damper to the top. Very nice, and I've used that for a couple of weeks and it's as comfy as I've ever had.
Unfortunately, skid dampers are rather grippy, so when moving the stick through an angle (or stirring it, not something I really need to worry about yet though!) it would bind on my skin - kind of like a really small chinese burn.
The solution: Add a roller bearing
Having leant my machining equipment to a friend, I knew exactly who to tap up about getting something machined up:

Only got one done so far, can't wait to try it out. Feels pretty awesome so far
Any other custom mods out there to try? He's got some paternity leave coming up, plenty of machining time between mucking outs.
