  • Smoothing out Futaba 10c throttle stick

When I bought my 10c it was the version aimed at planks and had the rivoted throttle stick. I changed the metal spring over to the smoother one but it still had the rivited feel so I sanded down the rivets on the actual plastic bit that the metal spring touches.

It now feels as though there is friction and I put grease on to smooth out the feel of it but it soon wears off.

Has anyone else had a good way of sorting out this issue.

I know I may have gone the wrong way about it but any tips would be good.

    Thanks

Dont have the metal part at all.
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Is that to make less surface of the metal bit touch the plastic?

Could do but I like to have some stiffness to the throttle as I always get nervous when flying and my hands shake.

No if you make the metal part flat and smooth you won't feel the clicks and it keeps the stick stiff and smooth (and comments from the twisted one's now )

but if it isn't like the 9cap scratch that idea

I sanded off the clicks on the plastic bit which makes me think why there is so much friction now on it unless I add grease or lube etc. Just having to do it every week or so now to keep it kind of smooth.

In the box there should be a smooth plate that you have to swap with the one thats in on the plastic plate. but it goes in the other whole 180 deg from the ratchet one!!!

Already done that but could still feel it clicking.

                          Hi

Try bending the metal plate up a little at a time until you get the right compromise.

                          Cheers

I did it the same way Mark did .. Flattened the metal part and bent it upwards a little then put it back and theres a little friction there but no clickiness ... nice and smooth for my throttle now
