DX6i - max Voltage?

Just a quick one,
I want to put some decent rechargable batteries in my DX6i but not sure how many volts it can handle, obviously it takes normal 1.5's. I have some 2.4volt ones lying around, could I use three of these totaling 7.2v or would that blow it up??

I can't take the credit for this, it was Pipistrelli's original thread, but the DX6i will take a 2s lipo quite happily, which is about 8.4v fully charged. HTH
