  • Generic YEP Help

Got my new YEP 120HV ESC on my 600 with programming card and can't seem to get it to work.

I have watched numerous videos and read online manuals but still nothing. I have the short (roughly 4 inches) cable coming from the ESC going into the left (ESC) port on the programming card and I'm plugging the cable to power the card in the other port into an Rx port (should I go to a port in my Vbar?)

Gone through programming the ESC with the card, got all my setting right (as far as I'm aware), tried it with the governor off to being with and the motor will just not spin up. I does beep a bit on start up but does not count in the cells (8).

    Any help appreciated.

    Ollie.

You have to take the throttle signal from the vbar into the yep prog card and disconnect the throttle lead completely. It's a pain to get right the first time. I spent ages getting mine to work with the prog card.

Thanks Joe, I will try that.

Just to clarify, I need to plug the extension lead to the right 'Rx' port in the programming card from the throttle signal in the Vbar? What do you mean by disconnect the throttle lead completely?

          Thanks for your help.

The prog card goes into the program lead of the yep. The extension lead goes from the prog card to the esc channel of the vbar. The esc throttle lead that normally runs from the vbar to the yep directly is not used while programming the esc.

Hi Joe, what if my Vbar doesn't output throttle?

To program the yep , you put the short lead into the card , l/h side , connect the main power to a batt , then plug in a rec batt supply into the r/h side of the prog card , I use a 4.8v rec batt , when plugging the rex pack in , the card should sing a tune , select your settings , when finished , discon the rec pack from card , then main pack , then card from short speedo lead , ady

Hi ady, I have just tried that and my motor will still not spin up . I'm sure I'm programming in the end points correctly but the ESC doesn't count in the cells when I'm finished programming.

I never program the end points on the card , my throttle end points are max' d in the tranny , throttle trim at zero , stick to full , plug in the speedo , listen for the series of fast beeps , then put to zero throttle , wait for it yo beep and set , remove blades incase , discon . You will now need to reprogram as setting endpoints adjust certain parameters , hopefully you'll start

Just tried that too, I get the fast beeps, wait for them to stop then go to zero throttle. Then I think it enters programming mode. I get a series of increasing beeps (1 then 2 then 3 etc). Unplugged everything, tried again and still no spin up. It's not the motor as I have just tried another.

Yes, when powering it on, I get 4 tones (different pitch), then 4 increasing in pitch. The red light on the ESC flashing whilst this is happening, then goes solid and no motor response.

Have you removed the red wire from the lead that goes into the rec throttle channel
