Fusion Hawk 120 Opto ESC is the best kept secret in this hobby . It's really brilliant ESC, esp. when paired with Vbar governor. IMO only Kontronik beats this one up. BTW Mine was set to helicopter and I had no kick at startup (with VBar gov).

I have decided to stick with the Hawk and give it a go.

There are two wires coming out of the hawk (red, black and white wires), which plugs into the ESC and which is the programming wire ??

Okay, I'm having a setup issue, quite hard to explain.

As soon as I release TH the heli will start spooling up, that's with the throttle trim at mid point.

If I lower the Throttle trim to it's lowest point then it wont start up automatically, but it doesnt reach a very high speed. Yet, if I have the trim at mid point, then the heli will reach a high headspeed.

I have tried re-binding at lowest trim point, and at mid throttle trim .. but no success.

Am I missing something ? I have set everything up as per the book.

            Thanks

Nope, subtrim is 0, and travel adjust is 100-100

Does throttle have to be calibrated then

It doesn't say so in the manual, I have reset the ESC using the programmer and set it back up, still with no luck.

What's involved in calibrating the throttle ?

                      1) Connect the speed controller as shown in the photograph but DO NOT connect the drive battery yet.
                      2) Switch the Transmitter “ON”.
                      3) Move the throttle stick forward to the “FULL THROTTLE” position.
                      4) Now connect the drive battery to the speed controller. The motor will emit a short series of beeps to confirm the connection. (If the LED lights up, disconnect the drive battery and reverse the servo reverse switch on the transmitter and start again from number 1)
                      5) After around 10 seconds, the motor will emit a double series of beeps to confirm that it has detected the full throttle position.
                      6) Within 2 seconds move the throttle stick to the “STOP” position. Again the motor will emit a short series of beeps to confirm that it has detected the stop position.
                      7) If using the reverse function, move the throttle stick to the “REVERSE” position.
The motor will emit a short series of triple beeps to confirm that it has detected the reverse position. If you don‟t require the reverse function, then just leave the throttle stick in the stop position for approximately ten seconds and the controller will confirm the settings with a series of triple beeps.
                      8) After the triple beeps, disconnect the drive battery to complete the setup.

Im having no luck with that at all :/

I just increased the throttle travel to 110-110 and it's stopped the immediate start up
