  • YEP 120 hv speedo programming card

morning all , i have the yep 120 on its way with programming card . one or two things i have spotted over the net , and jonesheli , correct me if i`m wrong please , the fast gov works from the percentage in the radio like my turnigy speedos do . leave P & I . heli slow start , 2% start up , 2.9 cutoff voltage and the rest to suit my 12s and align motor that came with the 700 rex

    cheers ady

Same as the YGE set gov, forget p&i for now 2% is a good choice for spool up rate. Rest is pretty standard to your personal choice. For th response try Heli Middle.

G's now running vbar gov with a Hyperion phase sensor.

As maj says, leave p and I gains, defo 2% spool up, heli slow and make the cut off lower than you need as its aggressive. Use the normal gov and forget gov store unless you have really different age packs, if you do use gov store use a weaker pack @ 4v when you first spool up after set up, flat th curve in tx for chosen head speed.

If you've got vBar then forget the YEP gov (which is very good) and use vbar gov (which is better!)

Is the general feeling that these escs are okay. Read a few reports of motors stuttering and things letting the magic smoke out.
        Cheers,

I've only seen Jonesheli YEP and it's flawless on spool up and in flight. He's run that all summer countless flights with no issues at all. Workmanship on it seeks pretty good.

Can only really go on my own experience which is the YEPs are very good esc's and would use one again. They are on the large side so wouldn't be great in something like a Logo where space is tight but on a 700 etc it's not a problem.
Ive been running a little experiment on my DFC which is using the Turnigy Heldrive motor with the YEP esc, total cost roughly £140 for both. This combo has had many flights now with no issues, motor is powerful and the YEP gov works very well although I'm using the vbar gov now.

I have just received a YEP 100amp ESC from Hobby King which I am considering using on my Logo 500 6s set up. I have read good and bad things about them and not sure if it's worth the risk, they just seem to good to be true at the price having only experienced kontronics high price tag.

Can anyone here convince me please.

                Thank you.

Get it on the Logo and fly it, you won't be disappointed. :-)
