It's rather common to run JR DS 8715 on swash straight from a 2s LiPo, even though it's not officially a high-voltage servo.
I tried this in a flybarless heli, where the servos need to work harder because of the ongoing corrections.
Conclusion: Not recommended. They get so hot you can't keep the finger on them.
I'll put a regulator back in. At 6.3 V, they still get hot, but not as badly.
