Gaui 425 to a 550

Thought I was going to have to sell the Gaui 425 but now I dont have to, I've made the decision to keep her and turn convert to a 550... parts ordered!

I'd like to hear from any 550 flyers who have done the same, how it flies, sounds, looks etc,

Are the holes in a 425's blades the same in a 550s blade and what size are they??

Just replied to you on HF - the holes are generally 3mm on 425mm (and 500mm) blades and 4mm on the 550mm blades - Gaui used to provide the wooden blades (500mm and 550mm) with a collar to allow chopping and changing - you can either get some brass tub with a 4mm O/D and a 3mm I/D or I might be able to find some of the inserts .....

Think I've got some collars but thanks for the offer

I've ordered 14t pinion and 60t main gear, will the standard gaui motor be ok? 1400kv I think

Just about - the HS will be a bit high unless you have a throttle curve maxing at about 80% - 85%

That's great as my throttle curve is 80% max
