Hi All,
I was out flying yesterday and all was going well until.... Bang.... uncontrollable tail spin!!
Brought her down the best I could, she was only 10ft up but heading towards a building so put her down ASAP, minimal damage, feathering shaft bent, one double link gone and a landing skid bent. Everything else survived (thank god for soft muddy fields!!)
Reason for the crash was difficult to determine but I have concluded that my carbon tail drive shaft had sheared at the tail end!
I had no warning whatsoever and the shaft, bearings and tail gears were all new (approx 5flights)
I have ordered a new kit, but after a bit of thought have also ordered the original aluminum shaft which I will fit when it arrives, I have lost confidence in the carbon version!
I will try and post a picture of the sheared drive when my mate brings my camera batteries back!
Has anyone else had issues with the carbon tail drive?
Cheers
