Guys,
I've upgraded my Raptor 50 V2 to near-Titan standard and am now running 623mm MANIAC blades on the longer tail boom. I now don't have the tail authority I need to maintain heading during full-power climb-outs at a headspeed of 1850rpm. If I up the headspeed to 2050rpm (the second setting on the governor) the problem goes away so I am happy to fly. The gain on the GY401 is set high, there's full freedom of movement in the tail control system and engine tuning now seems good.
I've currently got a pair of 85mm FUN KEY tail blades on the heli (they came fitted when I bought it 2 years ago and have survived all the crashes!) and am thinking that I should probably up their size to 95mm, but I don't want to spend silly money. Looking at the fast-lad site I'm tempted by the Torsion (96mm in white) or the Align items intended for the TREX 600 (not sure of the size though).
Any thoughts, advice or comments? Is there any risk of a tail strike?
Si G
PS the heli has a black-and-white theme so I'm ideally after white tail blades.
