  • N7 Vbar placement and wire chaffing

    Hi guys,

Ive used the holes in the radio tray thing on the N7 to route the wires to my vbar, Im worried about chaffing though.

I feel like it will take up too much room if i use a bit of fuel tube to take the edge off...just wondering what youve all done really?

Can you not round the frames a bit with sand paper?

Perhaps. I'm forgetting that I have mine in braided sleeving. Extra weight but I'd never go without it with carbon fibre frames.

Fuel tube or canopy edge protection, I have also used the fluffy self adhesive velcro

I used some hot glue on my X3 where a cable had to run through the frame, the glue on the inside edge protects the cable against rubbing, and also holds it in place.

              Hi Delarado,

What i use is some of the foam rubber sanding blocks from B&Q which are available in various sizes to sand the edges of the carbon frames and radio tray plates smooth, you can also get some of these blocks in small detail type shapes which are ideal for sanding the inner edges of the radio plates. When routing the wires through or near the edges i will add some heat shrink tube to the wire as a extra layer of protection.

Hope this helps, if i can be of any help just give me a shout.
              Cheers,
              Ross
              Thanks!

I like the idea of the canopy edge protection, will probably stay in there better than fuel tube will.

I might heat shrink the ends of everything and use the canopy edge protection.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! (And girls!)
