Maidened the rebuilt Velo50 yesterday, virtually a new build. New fbl head, full tail end, all electrics, JR8915 on cyclic, align 650 on tail, & spektrum AR7200bx. New Fusuno tropical forest canopy to finish her off!!!
Had a spare hour and half so decided to bite the bullet & shoot off to the club, awesome weather 24deg and about 8mph winds!!!! Fuelled her up, popped in the starter & the Ys struck up first time!!! Scurried to the flightline & spooled her up.......all good!! Popped her into a hover & all good for first time. Just needed 5 clicks off the gain, throttle curve lowering abit & abit of left & forward in the cyclic adjustment. Took off again & spot on, lovely & stable, hands off in the hover, clicked into idle1 & flew some circuits, the beastx performed excellent straight from the off, just a tiny bit numb on cyclic as I like my helis slightly twitchy. After a couple of parameter adjustments took off again & this time felt alot more responsive so flicked idle2 & went for it.......did my first funnel, inverted nose in 5foot from the deck, usual loops, first backwards flight & tried some ticktocks.......only tried alot of this on Pheonix but the Velo was just flying so nice so grew some balls & went for it. was buzzing when i went back to work!!!! Cant wait to finish the 600e pro fbl & try that!!!!!
