Well I finally did it. After what seems like a an age building and then not being able to get to the field because of work commitments I finally got the chance to take the Velocity 50 out for a spin.
After a false start which thankfully happened on the ground (a ball link on the tail linkage sheared and the heli did a 180) I managed to hover nearly a tank without breaking anything. I really was shaking afterwards. It was fairly daunting compared to my 450 Sport, but seemed much more stable in the air.
I have to say a huge thanks to everybody at the club for helping me today. Extra special thanks goes to Alec for helping me get the sheared ball link out otherwise that would have been it for the day.
Next step...forward flight...gulp !!
