can you tell me why your against the velocity 50 now ? because of one persons view against many positive views !
at the end of the day its your choice but when you ask which to go for and 9 out of 10 say velo50 over 600 you take the view of the 1 person that has had issues
    that does surprise me somewhat

Haven't owned a Velocity and I have to admit on not just Guys experience but others on here I probaly wouldn't buy one. Bens TAILS of woe and the lack of support from Outrage just compounds my thoughts. There was only one Fusion in the club and it didn't last long, I have to admit to quite liking the machine itself but it was soon sold as it didn't suit the particular member. I know Ben got sorted out in the end but I just couldn't be bothered with the hassle

The 600 on the other hand, they don't fly straight, they're pitchy and unpredicatable in the wind but everyones had one, easy to repair and easy to get spares for. One sure way to turn it into a lovely heli though put a beastX on it and experience Align Awesomeness

Just to go against the grain of this thread, I had a v1 Velocity, one of the first into the country. Built it, flew it for nearly two years, beat shit out of it every flight and didn't replace a single thing on it. Sold it to my dad recently and he's still flying it and loves it. It still flies straight as an arrow and goes like a stabbed rat. I'll admit that Outrage aren't the best at QC and they have a habit of releasing models before they are ready. However, my V50 was one of the best models I have ever owned and for those who know me, I've owned a seriously large number of helis. I don't fly for Outrage, I'm certainly not sponsored by them, they don't advertise on my site. Of course buy what you want or be swayed by tales of woe, my experience with the V50 was just awesome. Why did I get rid of it ..... I'm not flying 50s anymore, only 90s.

Here's me running the poor bugger lean at 3D Champs a couple of years back ...

The thing is Kel it's not just my view. At Milton Keynes this year there was a cross section of pilots, novices to masters, and of the hundreds of helis that were present just 2 were Velocity 50's. They are comparable in price & running costs to the TR600 yet no one wants them, if they're so good why are there so few out there and why do so many come up for sale just a few weeks after they've been maidened?

I'm pretty sure I was the only one there with a T-Rex 550, I didn't see anyone else fly one on the Saturday..... based on that there must be twice as many Velocitys as T-Rex 550s ;-)

firstly im not knocking the competition but you can buy align parts in every heli shop in the uk and this gives real incentive to go for the very popular 600n and yes the outrage range is i dont think as well supported in the uk as i should be,it is a great heli but i think you will find more 600s are sold second hand compared to the velo50 its just the velo50 is not as popular,go in to any heli store and say i would like to spend my hard earned on a 50 size nitro the shop owner is gonna get a 600n off the shelf for you guarenteed its the ford focus of the heli world plenty of em and they do the job , the velo is a better heli and flys better but needs a little more attention and that does not suite many folk nowadays they want it ready out the box so to speak.

With all due respect Ashley didn't you sell your Velocity 90 after just a few flights?

I have had my problems, but they are really good to fly, the head is a peach, way better than any 600, just take time with the build and expect some of the
                            crap on here to happen.

Mine is into 70 plus flights and gets regular tear down maintenance, just fitted a new engine mount as the threads on the original one are starting to "pull"

Best mod I had was fitting 2 x 1mm spacer washers under the bottom mast block as the extra 1mm lowers the fly wheel down from the frame a little and
allows the rear drive to mesh in line, I wore out my 1mm spacer and the flywheel rubbed the frame and pulled the engine down, just missed a crash.
2 washers stops any wear as they rotate against each other .

Get the 90 landing legs, sits the heli up a lot better when auto landing, and much stronger.

Watch the wiring as it can get very tight in the front, cover the servo bolts with fuel pipe.

Its all on here , just read the problems and work them out , you will love this heli.

Ordering a FBL 90 so it all starts again lol !!!!
