Had to get a new starter coupling for my Velo 50 so I had to buy the new starter shaft aswell. I could not believe what they have done to it. It's totally crap. How the hell can the starter coupling be fixed securely to the shaft? Who ever designed this should be shot! I heard the TRex 600 starter shaft and coupling fit the velo is this correct?

Go for the Trex 600 one, it's a tight fit without doing up the grub screws so it'll hold fine. I've got the Align one on mine and I've never had a problem.Originally posted by discoferret View PostYes Ive tried it. No matter how hard I tighten it, it slips. The old version was alot better.Guy

Received the trex 600 starter shaft yesterday. I tried to get the starter coupling on the velo shaft but its too small only by a very small amount. Did you have to modify it?Originally posted by Gate88 View PostGo for the Trex 600 one, it's a tight fit without doing up the grub screws so it'll hold fine. No mod required. Just put the starter cup on the end of your starter, spin it up and it'll wind down onto the shaft.Originally posted by discoferret View PostReceived the trex 600 starter shaft yesterday. I must say mines $hit too, i got the new one and its still giving me gip, crap..... wat i done as i couldnt get an Align one too fit, too tight, i hack sawed the slot abit deeper on the coupling itself as when u tightened the two allen key bolts up it didnt realy compress the nut atall, was better with the deeper slot, and also abit of locktite too, works now but slips now and then..... deffo better after id cut it more.... britt..Velocity OS91HZ BstX FBL EDGE
