    Hi John,

I'll check my link lengths when I get home but I'm not sure how well they will relate as mine's set-up for v-bar.

I have not "changed" any settings within the v-bar, I just set it up so that the sliders were as close to 100 as they could be.

      hi John,

The links from the servos to the swash are 62.5mm overall and the balls are 21mm from the center (JR Servos)

The links from the swash to the blade grips are 89mm overall.

      Hope this helps a little.

Many thanks for that Mark. Those match mine exactly.

Does the V bar not add more cyclic pitch as needed when in flight when you change things like the agility? i also thought you could add more via the TX once you setup the Vbar?

If not, it works very differently than I expected, and would suggest that the swash was never tested with other FBL units by MA. I guess when this heli was developed, Vbar was about it as far as FBL controllers went, so myabe they never saw the problem.
I'd be happy to buy a Vbar, but I want assurance from MA it'll be ok before I buy one. I'll post anything they come back to me with here.

        Anyway, thanks again.

        Cheers

          Hi Guys.

I think i can help here.

The vbar runs a cyclic ring ,which restrics the total throws.
I have found the 3gx in stock settings to need the total throws restricting,so that when the sticks are cornerd your travels are less agressive.
Just ignoor me if you are talking about something else,(mark normaly does anyway!)but it might be worth looking into.

          MK mark,
didnt no you came on here,i remember that crash like it was yesterday! that was a big hit from a big height. You took it very well though, hats off to ya

          cheers

Yes we have the cyclic ring that you set when setting up. You set the pitch at 3 degrees or so (hovering pitch) and then reduce the value until there is no binding, you don't set it at full throw.

I believe that once the cyclic pitch value (a value you change in the set-up to give 8 degrees) and the cyclic ring value have been set then the v-bar uses these values to work out the max possible roll/flip rate without binding and then you set the rate you want in the agility setting. (I'm more than happy to be corrected if this isn't the case).

Andy, yep I come on here occasionally, I generally let the guys with all the knowledge get involved. I've still got the boom, I'm going to get it framed when I get the chance!

I believe at the testing phase of the furion and fury Bobby watts (MA's development pilot and co designer at the time) was using Vbar and shortly after release the futaba CGY750. I know to get perfect geometry for the CGY750 you can change the swash balls but I'm pretty sure the original design was with the vbar.

Thanks for the info and help guys.

I have tried to restrict the movement as much as possible, but still no joy. I think this swash is just not compatable with the 3GX, at least not with the current firmware.
I tried version 3 of the firmware, which has a cyclic ring setting, but that didn't seem to make any difference unfortunaly. Could be a bug in the 3gx software maybe.

                Cheers

3gx V 3 cyclic ring values have been reduced to the minimum setting on the slider on my machine(Align 700e) and also ail and elevator travels have been turned down aswell.
I have seen MK marks machine with vbar and its not short of throws with vbar so i am convinced all you are seeing is to much travel from the 3gx.Reduce these rates and all will work fine.

                    Hi,

Even with travel at min values and ring at min it still binds unfortunately.

Just think I'll will have borrow a vbar of a club mate and see how I get on.

                    Cheers
