        Hi,

When I had mine I was using the TP 5s4p 8000mAh packs but you could also use the 6000mAh packs. I used to get easily 12mins.

I think the in thing on the Ion now is 5s1p x2 alot lighter, not sure on the flight times though ?

        Simon.
        Need a 90, can't decide on which ?
        Raptor Titan
Sold my 14mz think I'll go JR next !

          and cheap to repair.

every now and then i fly the fury, its a sweet heli

have had other xl's had a gasser, nice heli much respect.
had a couple of 30's they were good for there day (learnt my first cicuits and nose in with the 30's)

i know a couple of guys still using the pro II's they fly superb, still very nice machines.

It's a shame that X-Cells are so expensive in Europe.
Here in Australia they are more then price compatible to any other heli in it's class.

            I own three of them.
One original 1003 kit which has been modernized over the years.
One Fury Expert which now sports a 8.45 : 1 gear ratio and runs a YS80
            One Stratus with YS90

The beauty of the X-Cell range of helies is that you will never run into the problem of not being able to get parts for it anymore.
            Or
You are stuck with an outdated heli that can't be upgraded to today's level of quality and performance.

Can't you guys get parts cheaper from let's say Cyberheli?

              Okay...let's try that again.
It's a shame that X-Cell appears to be soo expensive over in Europe.
Here in Australia, the kits and parts are more then just competitive with other helies in it's class.

              I own three of them
One X-cell 60 original 1003 kit that has been modernized over the years and now is up to the same quality of today's heli, except that it still sports it's original bent metal sideframe. It runs a OS70 now.
One Fury Expert, upgraded to 8.45:1 and YS 80 plus the latest Flybar system.
One Stratus running a YS90 and LT6100 gyro.
All these will be upgraded to Spread Spectrum soon, once my JR DSX9 arrives.
I have already multiple AR7000 RX's standing by and the Stratus will get the AR9000 RX and an extra external RX which then brings it up to 4 RX's.

I once had a Pro 2 four stroke but ended up fitting a 2 stroke 90 when the YS91ACH died. It was the best heli i have ever had for F3C flying and did huge round loops and axial rolls with ease. I will dig out some photos and put em on here.

I recently saw a Pro 2k on the BMFA classifieds and was very tempted but never persued it.

I have got a JR Sylphide this time which i'm sure i will enjoy flying when i complete it.

Just picked up a X-Cell pro2K, not had much use, in fact heli is a credit to it's former owner. Came complete with OS 61 Max SX, JR digi servos, TG blades, manual and 3 sheets of drawings. Just had to fit my Rx,Gyro and Batts, clean out the fuel system and renew fuel & clunk lines. Waiting for the rain and wind to abate a bit so I can fly it. Spares do look bit pricey but what the hell, never had a cheap hobby yet.

                    I've got a Fury Extreme (ex Motors & Rotors), Y.S 80, SB16 Todd Bennet Special, JR 8231's, JR5000t, JR8700G.

Smoothest machine I've ever flown, and ****es all over other 90's at our club for autos.

I put some flybar weights on it a while back, and flew it in the Scottish Heli Nats, tracked straight and true as you like in FAI type moves.

Yes spares are more expensive than Raptors etc etc, but there's one difference - X-Cell parts NEVER wear out ! Dave Wilshere built a Pro 2K in 1999 and he hasn't replaced one part to date - and it was still as smooth as ever in the heli nats this year.

Without doubt, Xcell helicopters are in a build-class of their own, and although I've never flown one, they certainly look like they go well to me.

But why, oh why, oh why is a model helicopter manufacturer like MA limiting their sales in the UK to just one outlet, and to an outlet that at best only ever has a very poor stock level of spares (I know this because a club-mate has been waiting for what is an unacceptable length of time for some spares)? What are they playing at? It just doesn't make sense. It's the only reason why they're not popular over here - they're just not readily available from the main outlets like Midlands and Skyline etc.

If it weren't for the service, I'd have one tomorrow, but this side of their business just isn't competitive.

Motors and Rotors had a stand at Wings & Wheels last weekend, and do you think they had the new Xcell 50 in display, or the Stratos, or any other MA machine? No, not a helicopter in sight. Nothing, nowt, zilch! Just some lecky planes and other bits'n'bobs. How can the manufacturer be happy with the way in which M&R are promoting their products. It's ridiculous.

Simple answer to the spares issue is "Don't crash !"

Maybe Motors and Rotors thought it was more appropriate to take lots of fixed wing stuff to Wings & Wheels - is it a fixed wing based show ??

I'm guessing if they go to the 3D masters etc then they will take loads of Heli's ???

Do M&R usually support the 3DM? I can't remember if they were there last year or not.

May be BobJ or Trevor from Midlands could shed more light on this?

Motors & Rotors have certainly been at 3DM for the last couple of years and last I heard, he will be there again this year.
