,,, but I'm a total newbie,,, looking for a club near me (I live in south east London),, have a sim but just starting out. Anyone got any advice?? I was thinking of getting a 30 or electric to learn with,,,,,,, as I don't want to crash the XL.
Hello there, I had my Pro 2K checked over last week and its now ready for my first lesson, I have had a lot of people saying dont learn with it but a few that said it may be easier as its more stable than a 30 size. I am getting lessons to minimise the risk of crashing using a buddy system and have never flown before. I live near Reading, where are you, any pictures?
I'm nr Beckenham. Interesting that your learning with the same heli. Who checked it out? I can take some in the morning and post them. I brought it off a guy who must have had more money than sense because he tricked it out and then never flew it. He did have a friend set it up and hover it but I should get it checked out. Luckily I have the radio that he hovered it with and the XL is in the memory.
Still a bit nervous about going it alone. I should try to find a helpful club with other xcell owners,,, hence my post!!
Looks very nice, I saw it on Ebay a few weeks ago, did you get it with the trainer heli he was selling? If so I would use that maybe if you are not getting a lesson. I would get the setup checked out, but be carefull as I feel I got done a bit on this and say it should take no more than an hour as it is already in the tranny, I would recommend you get a fixed set up price then you cant get done on it taking longer than you were told.
Anyway, your Pro 2K looks exactly like mine, same gyro, what is th eengine mine is an OS90 SXH. These helis are really nice kits, retailed at £1,900 for the kit alone but stopped welling them a few years ago but MA still stock parts and motors and rotors can get most parts for you based in Watford, very helpfull as they are the MA distributor.
Yeah the guy didn't sell it on ebay,,, nobody bid,,, and I'd already talked to him before it closed and he wanted too much money. So we met up and I took the lot off his hands for very little. Sold the 300 as it was pretty poor to be honest. But selling it got the price for the 2k with radio and field gear down to silly money,,, cost of the radio and gyro maybe. Used V1 raptor 30 money,,, how could I resist!!!
It has an os sx 61 in it,,, how do you tell if it is the H? the piston is ringed.
Anyway,, setup - He had the heli built and set up by the model shop that supplied it. Saw it fly once after setup and then never used it,,,,, same with the 300 which he brought to train on,,, he never joined a club so said he never got enough confidence to fly. He must have spent a fortune on it as it has some good kit in it. The WC2 radio is mint.
Thanks for the advice about set up. I want to get a build manual for the 2k,,, so I can check myself first and then get a club member (when I join one) to check. You don't have one I could get a copy of do you? would the dealer in Watford have one?
All the plans are there just print them off, they are not in book form like modern x-cell helis but show all the parts of the kit.
Sounds like you got a great deal there, I did the same, negotiated with the owner who had a few x-cell and wanted to sell some and spent about 1/6th of the new cost and it had everything. The kit is not really for 3D but was designed more for FAI I am told which is acrobatic but smoother which suits me fine, apparantly these are really stable so should be easier to learn on. I am waiting to book my lesson in the next few weeks.
Hello there, is that a fury, My mate has just bought an X-cell Pro 2k as well and I have recently bought an Ion x which is electric based on the fury extreme.
