Updated pictures before the Hanson gets removed.
The TRM300 and new pipe should be here tomorrow.

I've started Replacing all the ball links as my first job before I dismantle the lower section.

Still very classy IMHO. It looks like it should be pretty easy getting the engine out from what I can tell. I'll be interested to see how it goes.

I changed a lot of the ball links on mine to captive ones a while back... a mix of MA parts and quicks if memory serves (which it doesn't so much these days)...

I have the captive system on the majority apart from the tail control rod and throttle linkage.
Due to vibes from the gasser engine some of them seem to develop quite a bit of play so I try to keep an eye on them and replace when needed.

The captive ones wouldn't come off but and I don't think I would notice the slight play as the Heli is still fly barred but I do it anyway.

The TRM PowerPipe is certainly going to let more exhaust gasses through going by the size of the outlet compared to that of my existing Hatori.

Quality of this is a bit questionable though.You can tell it is a modified unit as the seams and finish are just not up to the same standard as the Hatori.
I'm going to give it a try anyway.

Waited for a few parts so still playing with this.
New JR servo had to be bought as one of the cyclics was extremely noisy,new servo rubbers all round and a new 'Uniball' for the clutch stack.
All new Tygon fuel lines and a slight tidy up of existing wiring.

Just the new exhaust to fit for now having already fitted the mounting plate.

The new engine mount certainly looks sturdy enough. I guess there are reasons why the engine cannot sit a bit higher owing to the former PUH engine having the fan on top and the frame accomodating those dimensions. It looks like it all fits together well in any case.

Yeah everything does fit quite nicely together now - it wasn't quite right first of all though.
They originally supplied a Zenoah clutch mounting plate to use which is actually too high making a zero gap between the fitting bolted to it and the clutch plate with the Uni-ball fitted to it.
It would not actually fit together without parts touching.
After a couple of emails I was told to use the CY engines mounting plate instead which turns out to be just less than 3mm shorter.

This then gave me a gap that was far too big which would lead to excessive wear of the rubber clutch dampers and the Uni-ball.
I ended up making a couple of 15mm diameter and 2mm thick spacers out of sheet aluminium to close this gap up to less than 1mm which now looks OK.

All now completed.
Ready to start getting some fuel though the engine and running it in.

A Miniature Aircraft Flybarless head and Futaba CGY750 are ready for when all is running OK.

HI Malc, how is the heli going and did you get the flybarless set up on it, any idea of the pros and cons with the RC motor over the PUH. At present I'm running 2 Hanson RC 270 motors in my 700 gassers and they perform well but no idea as to the PUH motor and how it compares. One of my clubmates has a Spectra G but it has the PUH motor in it, was on about getting it off him last year but with MA out of business it was a no no at that time. See they are producing stuff in Germany now so been thinking about it again recently and it's nice to fly something different.
