  • how good are they

when compared with the likes of a trex 700. build wise what are they like to put together, i've built a couple of trex kits but no built expert.
i'm seriously looking at both the 50 and 90, i want flybarless as i've a spare 3g gyro looking for a home and i want nitro as i've already got 2 lecky helli's (trex 250 fbl and a trex 550fbl) i fangy the longer flights but as i've never built or set up an ic heli am i going to struggle. i've looked at trex's but i'm not keen on spending that much dosh.
    whats your veiw.

the build is very striaght forward, much like any heli really, hav put just under a gallon through mine now, i love it get better every flight, and for the price u cant really go wrong as for the 50, jesus, os55 and its a animal, stupidly fast on the stock paddles, if u go the 59 route get the comp xe kit, has everything in it bar the bell cranks which cost about 23quid for the set, and to convert the 50 to FBL cost around 30quid, maybe less all in all, much loved by be, and once set up ur hav a fully mental 3 machine

Thanks for the fast reply pete, Is the 50 about the size of a trex 600. I have to be honest the 3d bit is beond me at present as i'm only just doing curcuits, My main reason for going down the nitro route is the 550 ive got is an animal and by the time i've settled down into the hover i've got to change the lipo. the 50 looks nice but what motor would you suggest for a slightly more sedate style of flying.

just put slower paddles and heavyer blades on it, turn the cyclics down abit and crank the headspeed down and it will b as sedate as u want, im running everything as light as i can, hence the speed

Or fit it with a flybarless head (very cheap mod on a Comp 50). On the stock settings with my Beast X, the model was rock solid and very sedate.

Mine has got an OS50 Hyper, but has plenty of power for what I do.
            Cheers,
            Simon

I love mine so far, and all I've done is build the frame, boom and some of the head. I've had couple of niggles so far, where the bell crank shaft and feathering spindle are both too short by about 1mm so I'm onto ElyQ or Climbout to try and get replacement parts.

Other than that it's a great kit for the price, although for £70, you get very little parts wise for the FBL head!
