  • 130x SUBMARINE

    Hi everybody,
I was flying my 130x yesterday and as usual managed to dump it into the ground, however it came to land the other side of a clump of bamboo grass about 10 ft away from my position, hit throttle hold and went looking for it.
Arrived at the grass and looked over the top, only to see the heli had landed in a gulley filled with about 18inches of water. Put the tx down and dove in and swam out to it, well got a foot wet retrieving it.
I immediately disconnected battery and shook the water out of it and back to the hanger thinking that is the end of it.

I was surprised how much water the motor and structure could hold.
I gave it a good spraying all over with WD40 and put it out to dry in the hot Spanish sun for a few hours, thinking, well I have nothing to lose now anyway.

After a couple of hours I wiped it off and sprayed the servos with electrical switch spray.
Now for the big test, connected a battery, a little smoke came from the bottom of the motor so I immediately unplugged it.
Well I thought nothing to lose now so I plugged the battery in again.
O great joy the motor beeped and set itself up, the only thing missing was the final beeps when the tail giro sets.

So I checked all servos, working, tried the motor and nothing.

So gave it a minute and tried again, motor spun and up she went, apart from a little hesitancy for a minute or two she appears to be flying as well as ever.

I really do love this little heli, I am now thinking of painting it yellow and putting a snorkel on it.

    Happy flying Tom.
