  • Converting a 600E Flybar to be Flybarless

I wonder if you could help... I have a flybar 600E. It is several years old and runs 6S. I want to convert it to FBL. I have had a hunt around a few online shops and I cannot find a kit that includes all the bits I will need. I heard the kits exists but I can't find them. Perhaps I just haven't looked hard enough but if you know of a 600E FBL kit I'd love to know where

The other thing is that I am unsure what main blades to get. I do sport flying and mild 3D so I wondered if the out and out 3D blades were at all necessary and what my options might be for something a little cheaper perhaps? Any ideas welcomed.

I like easy ones, go to Midlands flybarless section, they list everything you need, you can highlight the ones you need and go from there

Re: Converting a 600E Flybar to be Flybarless

There are lots fbl heads for the 600e ranging from the old 3g (which I currently use), rjx, dfc etc. Just have a look on ebay or any online model shops and they have them. Better off, check always the for sale section or the bmfa classifieds as they occasionally pops out. For the blades, you dont need to buy the latest fbl blades, a flybarred blade will do. Again, Im still using flybar blades for my 450, 500, 600 and 6hv except for the 7hv which has a fbl blades from kit.

I fitted one of these using an Align 3G last winter:- TZ-V2 .50 Size Metal Flybarless head kit
Been there and done that, but never stop learning.

Went to Midland and bought the Align FBL head kit, the new blade grips and a nice set of Spin 600mm blades. Can't wait to fit it for this weekend. Thanks for your help

This project has come to a bit of a halt.

The shaft in the conversion kit did not fit and I have yet to find a way to convert this older 600E (6S) to FBL. I don't need DFC. I have been told that the 600N shaft would fit... can anyone confirm this please? I really don't want to buy a load more bits only to find that they don't fit again.

I did give up and I put it up for sale but if I can do the conversion with bits that are still available to buy new then I really don't want to sell. It is a great heli and I would prefer to keep it.

Why won't the original shaft work? I would not think you'd need to change the shaft.

I converted the 2 x 600E CF that I owned to FBL using the STANDARD Main Shaft with NO problems.

Oh! OK. I can use the existing shaft? Great! All I need to get now then is the head and blade grips. Any idea what parts I'd need? I have had a look on align-trek.co.uk and it isn't obvious to a relative beginner such as myself

That would be good. I have one that I keep as a spare.

Thanks Jimmyhorns. I have PMed. Unsure what having an RJX head would mean as far as what else I would need to get to fit it but it very good of you to offer.

Thanks for the offer of the RJX head but I have decided to stick with the Align parts for now so I have ordered up the bit that Raj at Align-Trex.co.uk said I need. We will see if the shaft fits

It arrives tomorrow so I should have it up and flying on Friday if all goes well.
