makes more sense on max throttle how much of a gap do you have between the head? ive a close 1mm

ive measured the gap how much the swash drops to get to roughly zero pitch and i need to reduce them 5mm thats quite alot?!

If your servo horns are level at zero pitch,set your three servo to swash rods at around 21mm as Nick said,mine are the same bar a Knats,and you should have zero pitch with plenty of swash travel up and down,in fact far more than you need for a lively cyclic and pitch range.

I have just installed my DFC head, and wanted to not play with the servo to swash arms, so what I did was to cut off the small shoulder at the outside end of the plastic ball link that screws to the new arms. The turnbuckle is screwed tightly into the arm, and the shortened ball link is then screwed to about 1mm from the hex of the turnbuckle. This gave me zero pitch at mid stick.

Only issue I have now is it takes 6.9deg to get a blue light on the beastX, so I will be looking for shorter balls on the swash to get a better geometry.

ive noticed I need to get some more washers under the shaft as its got some play in it. needs about 1mm thick washer adding to mine

Ive just ordered some new shims as I need to add about 1mm maybe more, also ordered some new servo linkages after cutting mine down, best have spare if anything goes wrong.

I had some spare shims from the TDR, as they are 10mm i.d.

Interesting reading., ive now got all the parts the blade holders arrived yesterday so time allowing ill be updating my 550 for the weekend.

I really like the look of the lower head can't wait to check out the difference in flying as I think my 550 is about the best flying heli I have at the moment.

Ive only got the one shim on mine,if your still 1mm out you better check your bearing blocks are both in the correct way up.

schoolboy error! sorted now and no play with 0.5mm washer
