Can I maybe see it on the grips?? the should be a little longer on the v2 or???
The v2 grips are a little bit chunkier and also they also only come in silver

Any Align tail assy can take the book being thrown at it,I agree v2 tail assy is an improvement but v1 is great.

If you keep 'upgrading'a stock heli you may as well have just got a more high end airframe in the first place.

As for servos the 610s will run a 700 flybarless for hard 3d all day long.

Very true that man,Earn it spend it is my motto and I am inclined to practice it as well as preach it

As you say, just pointing out that the stock Align kit is damn good but indeed they have improved on it with the newer releases, win win

Yeah there is nothing wrong with stock align tail, i thing only a real pro pilot would notice the difference when pushing the tail really hard.

It's not needed, but on the other hand it is nice.

Totally a personal thing as to whether you want to upgrade....

For me, flight wise the upgrades (the v2b tail, the KDE linkage, the outrage Torq) all show themselves in a tail that can run a higher gain without wagging. I won't pretend however that my tail wasn't running fine before hand, it was. I'm not exactly a learner, but I'm no where near the standard where I really need to be upgrading.

This KDE upgrade should have legs though, long after the original has developed even more slop. Of course for the price of the upgrade you could replace the stock parts a few times.

For me it's as much about my love of engineering and mechanics as it is about anything else. It's a really nice design (better than any stock helicopter I've seen actually, the only ones that come close are one using the bobby watts style tail) and it's as smooth as glass...

Certainly doesn't hurt the flight performance though.

we noticed quite a bit of slop in the tail yesterday, so much so that there was a bit of wag that wasn't from the gyro. I have an old belt tail. Can this be applied to it ? Or would I have to go tt ? I'm thinking the tail is old old V1 ? Any ideas would be great.

                      Cheers guys for your advise!

I also am a man of one engineering, I've no doubt the standard tail will be fine but them ball links dont look like they will be a long term reliable issue. As for the kde v2 that looks like it would take alot longer to fail or wear.

I treated the head to an upgrade it's only fair the tail gets the same

As for now tho it's just the esc getting upgraded. Servos will need to wait but can live with them no problems

Belt or TT is irrelevant... The align v2 tail and the KDE control slider will work regardless.

Phil - as long as you understand what you're doing, and are happy with your reasons I see no reason not to get it. It won't make you fly like bert kammerer, but it might make your inner engineer very happy.

From another perspective when you are learning you could use some help. If the tail is only so so and has that annoying vague sort of wag due to slop or slight binding then the upgrade may just be the answer.

                              Fast lads.

Andy - true, but with a fresh set of parts and just the align v2 tail you can have a pretty slop free setup that works perfectly well with the stock align parts. The v2 tail is the real must-have upgrade here.

The KDE is just icing on the cake.
