600 esp with new 600 FL Head set problem

I bought this new head system from FL website. It said must use main shaft H55006. However when you use this setup with the 600esp pro frame the main shaft is not long enough to attach the bolt under the main gear auto rotation tail drive gear. Its a good 10mm short by the looks of it. Using my older esp main shaft with this new head is also looking like a no go, since there is not enough travel area for the swash to move in now since the head block comes down further with the new pivot levers. Any ideas? Any other main shafts that are longer on the bottom half I could try. Thanks wayne

The guidance to use the H5506 shaft is assuming it's being installed on the newer 600e Pro or 600L Dominator frame. The ESP needs a different length shaft.

In your case i think you have a problem because there appears according to this list to be only two alternative shafts for the ESP, the stock shaft which is too long for the FL head, and the DFC shaft which is too short. So unless Align have recently released a new shaft that's not on the list you would have to cut down your old ESP shaft. That isn't difficult, a Dremel easily cuts the shaft and a good sharp drill will make a new hole. I cut down a shaft when I fitted a Blade 600X head to my own Trex 600, getting the length exactly right so that the radius arms are level at mid stick is a bit of a challenge, it took me a couple of cuts to get it right, best start off on the long side and trim down.

I ended up using HN6118T (sad I know that from memory) which gives you the flexibility of the movable collar but short enough to use with a DFC head without it looking silly. Admittedly this has the extra 10mm on the bottom for the third bearing block which the esp didn't have so either cut this off or just leave it.

the problem though is the HN6118T shafts are becoming increasingly hard to find as spares for this older heli dry up.

My extremely modified/pimped-up old 600e beater heli's days are very much numbered im sad to say.
