Hi all I finally purchased my first kit to build and have now started it. Going ok so far but my question is there are two set screw holes on the motor pinion but only one flat spot on the motor shaft. Which do I use? Thanks

Both, set one on the flat and mark the other. Dremel a flat where you marked it taking care to cover the motor opening with a latex glove or cling film to prevent dust from entering

Thanks for that. I will seal the motor so no dust or metal go near the motor. Cheers

Theres no need to do that?

All i've ever done is make sure one set screw is on the flat spot, then the other just gets put in nice and tight.. never dremeled an extra flat spot and never had any problems.

Just making work for yourself doing that.

Thanks for all the help. How far down the shaft does the pinion need to be as ive notice there is a bit of adjustment when the set screw is in the flat area of the motor shaft.
