    Are you spaying the belt with a lubricant like WD40? I spoke to BobJ and he rekons WD40 works well. I personally use a vinyl restoration spray on he inside of the belt. Seems to help with the life of the belt.

    Also if you have any hard landings check your belt thoroughly for any teeth missing before flying it again.

    I made exactly the same mistake a while back (i.e. ignoring the strange noise) and lost the heli worse than you did, so well done.

      my first was witha a shuttle..... still had the mechanical gyro at the time it ran out of fuel at about 6-8 feet shot off up to about 15 feet and i nearly pooped meself.... This aint supposed to happen.... i could bearly hover at the time i think it must have been instinct i rameed the pitch and hoped...... landed all be it a bit skew and broke one of the training legs but the heli survived for another day spent the rest of the day trying to recover from excess adrenalin ...
