As has been reported elsewhere, firewalls can cause AccuRC to fail to run with a Error #2032 report (the sim can't connect to Local Host). The guys have info on how to get round the issue with Avast AV on their web site FAQ but very little on other internet security suites.
Kaspersky Labs Internet Security has a unit called 'Safe Money'. This unit can cause problems with network traffic - especially traffic for online games. In order for AccuRC to start up correctly 'Safe Money' needs to be disabled.
Start up Kaspersky Labs Internet Security front panel and click on the Settings button in the top right hand corner.
Under the Protection Center tab, click on Safe Money (second menu option from the bottom) and uncheck the Enable Safe Money check box then click on the OK button at the bottom.
If required, repeat the above process (checking the Enable check box) to resume Safe Money once you've finished using AccuRC.
