What I've been up to...

Hello everybody!

Well, I sold all my helis, quit my day job and moved out of London. I moved to the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, and started an Aerial Filming company using UAVs (like everybody is at the moment), and now get paid to fly!

Here's some clips from the last few months:

It was thanks to this forum I had so much fun with my helis! It is so much easier flying multirotors compared to SRHs! Except you tend to be flying further away and heading towards obstacles rather than avoiding them. And you can't cut the grass with them!

That really takes some balls to quit your day job and move house all in the mission to pursue your dream job, so respect to you for that! The video quality is amazing and so steady! Would be interesting to know what gear you used to film this with. And the scene at 2.15 is that the programme that is going to be on tonight called 'Speed' and you did the filming for that? Awesome!

I wondered where you disappeared to ? I knew you'd got into uavs etc . Shame as I watched your flying progress and you were making real progress but you have to do what's right for you bud

I needed a job that wasn't 9-5 and meant I could be outside. And flying! My wife and I just decided to literally just follow our dreams (she's a writer now). So far it has been so awesome! Everyone should do what makes them happy !

Speaking as a fpv newby i gotta say that's some very nice skillful flying right there....i need a bigger platform as the 350qx is just pants when fully loaded.

I need to have attitude mode and gps in one flight mode,the 350qx only has both in 'safe mode' and i can't fly that for toffee as left is always left,right right etc etc.

Does the naza have what im looking for.

And,is that just the smallest caravan EVER in your video? LOL

Hey mate. It was FPV that got me into the aerial game in the first place. I loved sitting there with my cup of tea and some goggles on flying around in between trees and over churches. It's like being a bird.

The wooden thing on the bike clip was a home made wind shelter thingy. It was literally gaffa taped on! At 85mph it was pretty scary!

Brilliant mate, really nice to hear someone who's got that desire to escape the "rat-race" and chase his own dreams... I really hope it works out for you =)

I know where you are coming from. Had the oppertunity last year to retire early with enough money to live on. Had a great year flying when i wanted and doing things in my own time. Not sure what everyones view is but i think you only get one go at life so make the most of it. Glad it has worked out for you. Just watched something similar with Guy Martin setting a new world speed record on a push-bike. Nuts!!!
