  • Wiring CC BEC Pro?

    Hi guys,

My current setup is as per the Align 3GX setup manual, ESC is plugged into the 3GX providing power from it's internal BEC, i have a Rx onboard so have the battery out from the 3GX to the Rx and the single signal wires between 3GX and RX.

Now, the CC BEC Pro has 2 output's for high amp draw, i wanted to check if i can wire it in like this? Or if there is a better way?

    1. Add the pins from the 2 output wires on the BEC to the free spaces on 2 of the 3GX signal wire plugs on the Rx.
    2. Move the battery OUT on the 3GX to battery IN.
    3. Remove red wire from the ESC servo plug.

I've done a diagram to try and explain better:

    Thanks!

EDIT: think this might not be the best as i still have a single wire to the 3GX which will be drawing all the current...

    Hey.

As you are showing, yes you need to remove the red wire from the ESC to 3GX connection, so that disables the ESC's inbuilt BEC. If not you can fry the ESC as the BEC PRO is more powerful.

Now with the CC BEC PRO, I'd advise connecting one of it's power leads to the 3GX and the other going to the receiver. There is then the short male-to-male patch lead which you can also connect from the 3GX "BATT OUT" port to a spare channel on the seperate receiver as well, this way the power is in a loop so to speak and both unit's are getting a good power supply.
Then if need be, remove the positive and negative wires from one of the BEC PRO plugs and slip them in alongside one of the single line patch lead wires going to the receiver.

How come you're using a seperate receiver, is there a specific reason? As if you are on Spektrum them two sats can plug straight into the 3GX and you're away.

Thanks for that, i was a bit unsure if you could leave the 3GX out to Rx Batt lead in place. But yeah that seems the logical way to spread the load and keep max amp's available to the 3GX.

I have to use a seperate Rx as the 3GX map's channel 5 to the Gov and channel 7 to the gyro gain. I only have a DX6i so wouldnt be able to adjust my gain

        Hey.

        You're welcome my friend.

Yeah it does make you think, but the link between the 3GX and Rx is fine left in place and helps with the loads as you've gathered.

Ah yeah, the dreaded 6 channel problem. I keep hoping Align will allow the user to switch the gyro gains channel in the software one day.
