5000mah packs wont fit on the fusion battery tray. Thats what I meant you said you'd ordered some, where from. The Nanotech turnigy 5000's are 154x50x50, the Gens Ace 4000's are 138x42x51. The way they fit on the fusion meant that you had to use the 51 which only just squeezed under the frames so you might get away with it I suppose.

i was going to say that martin, remove the battery tray and just strap it to the chassis

Finally time to strip down the fusion.
equipment that has
Main gear - 129T
small gear - 90T
Motor pinion - 13T
Battery compartment with tray (fits 2 batteries) - 170mm lenght*50mm height*70mm width
Battery compartment without tray (single battery - 170mm lenght*50mm height*30mm width (bottom frame)
The electrical installation was ready to fly 2 packs in parallel, it came with 2*(2650mah bat 40C)
I am going to stick with other configurations and change the 600mm blades to 550mm blades.
Questions:
1 - i have seen pictures of fusions having 1 bat pack for electronics at the front. Is this really necessary or can i use the power directly from the esc to feed servos and receiver (has i have on my 500) ? If it is possible, do i need a UBEC to connect between the esc and the receiver ? if it is not possible wich pack is recommended for about 30min flight ?

I'm am not clued up really with BECs. My knowledge goes as far as a basic understanding of what they're for, so I can't help with that regard.
I can tell you how I use the other method you mentioned - using a separate smaller pack for the electronics.
On my 12S setup, I use a LiFe pack (1100mAh) which outputs a pretty constant 6.6v which is close enough to 6v. On an average flight, I'll use ~350mAh just powering the servos so you can look at it as an extra 10% flying time due to the 350mAh (I use 3300mAh power packs) being drawn from the separate battery. Whether that is actually 10% I can't be sure as obviously extra weight (albeit only a little) is being added. Having said you're also saving weight by not having a BEC so it's personal choice really.Harry

It has already been said now but I'll just add, I was using 30/40C 5000mah blue Turnigy's on mine without the battery tray they just fit with a couple mm to spare. There are probably some packs out there that might squeeze on with the tray, maybe the yellow Zippy 'compact's ?
But after fiddling for ages with the ESC (Ice100LV) I put the Fusion on the shelf for the moment with the intention of going 12s with it, I just couldn't get a decent amount of power out of it without the motor running quite hot (Scorpion 4025/1100) and it was probably at the limit of those Turnigy packs.Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam

I am thinking of going for the turnigy nano tech 3000mah to feed the beast, 25~50C (2 bats on the tray). My experience with turnigy 3000mah 20c on my 500 is very good, and so i will have batteries that will fit the 500 and fusion.
Now i need the ideas for having the power for servos and receiver... from the bec/esc that i have can i connect directly to the receiver and feed from there to the servos (as on my 500) and i will get 6.6v ? or do i have to install a ubec between the esc and receiver just to control ? If so, the bec must suport how many amps or cells ?

Arrived and already assembled...
HR1178-13SS Steel Pinion 13T 0.8M 5MM Shaft
SA00058A Main Gear 129T 8 Mod Injection (BLACK)
SA00059A Main Tail Drive Gear 90T (BLACK)
Next week will change the connectors to receive the HTX batteries and alsso make a new vertical fin... the original is too thin... i dont trust it !!!
Also bought flybarred parts so if i cant tune the flybarless system i will "downgrade"...

Funny you should mention the tail, I was thinking about changing it to help keep the blades out of the grass, especially for autos etc.Originally posted by ricardoliveira View PostArrived and already assembled...

Wonder which other fin would fit...Harry
