Whats a good tach to use to measure headspeed?

Are the ones for android phones anygood?

Yes, they're very good, typically within 20 rpm or so. They also have the benefit of being safe to use on your own. Just start the app running, set your phone down, and then takeoff and hover over the phone for a few seconds.

Easy to do on your own, and literally takes 30 seconds. The one I use is called "RC Tachometer app"

cool so best to do on a quite, not too windy day.

No, any day is fine, just plonk it down on the ground and then hover over it. Haven't ever had it affected by the wind.
