The 1st suggestion is the best, you could also try sticking a Chanel/Prada/Gucci badge on the heli, and painting it pink (the heli, not the badge).Trex 600 ESP (Turnigy T600, DS821, DS620, GP750, 120A) sold

Not many blokes are that interested, and even less women. More than there used to be. One very promising new woman pilot said my msr-x was dinky. She's 25. She does martial arts, so not bothered about a mainly male group. Some men and women enjoying driving and it would probably appeal to the same group. You could try the women can't fly helis approach if they are competitive. I don't think there is much of a gender difference, age seems the main factor in terms of learning speed. Some of the smaller helis, probably below 450 size, do need patience and small fingers for repair which would favour females on average. Most people seem to make decisions on what is socially acceptable or fashionable, so you need a female role model.Flasher 450 Sport. Assan GA250 with 520 tail servo, MKS DS450 cyclic.

As cjc1949 says, it's one of those things where lots of guys have no interest either but I think in general to the average person it's mostly a matter of just seeing for themselves what's cool about it and experiencing the challenge and satisfaction of it. It's probably similar with lots of other sports and hobbies where unless you really get to see it up close and 'hands on' you'll never 'get it'.
I think some sports like surfing, skiing, tennis etc. it's more obvious to someone that has never tried it, they can more easily imagine where the thrill comes from.
At our club we have 4 women heli flyers and two more starting to learn now and we'll see if they carry on. I think they all got interested because of a partner or parent etc. and they came out and saw some flying, tried the sim etc. And I kinda think helis have potentially wider appeal than fixed-wing
By comparison, I have 3 flatmates, all guys, they see my helis being worked on when I take over the lounge coffee table, they see me going to the field and back on weekends etc. and yet they have no interest whatsoever.Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam

How about firing up Youtube and showing them videos of Rachel and other female flyers putting helicopters through their paces? A lot of women seem to think they just dont have the ablilty to participate in technical - for want of a better word - hobbies so providing them with proof it's not just for nerdy blokes might be the catalyst they need.Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days lived

My wife is learning on a Blade 120SR at the moment and is loving it but then again... she has an engineering degree and is used to being the only woman with a whole bunch of men... OMG! WHAT AM I SAYING!!!???!!! NOOOOO! What I mean is that she has worked in a male dominated environment all her life so for her the fact that it is predominantly a male hobby is not a barrier.
PHEW! Do you reckon I got away with it? :smile:Paul

Why on earth would you want to do that? Women do not have the intellectual capacity to understand flight but should be allowed to feel useful by making your packed lunch and thermos. sewing helibags, and if really talented, then perhaps on rare ocassions allowed to watch your packs charge. If they really ask nicely then on cold winter days they can come along as hand warmers. The whole point of a hobby is to have time alone or with your mates..or a mistress. Someone has to stay at home to get the washing and cooking done and as a man your time is far too valuable to waste on such mundane matters when there is an alternative sex who can feel challenged by such things...PGK
