The hawk in my video is £30 from hk, then around a futher £150 for motor, fan, esc,etc and lipo.

Lol Jesus ... I had one of those and flew it on 3s... Lost the model to a brown out.... Think I might have to get another one now for a setup like this! Where you get that fan unit?

Check out my lander hunter with the new hobby king 70m metal dps cs 10 blade fan, these new 10 blade fans are the way to go now for performance and that jet like sound

I think I prefer the sound from your first video to this one. The sound is better on the first one.

Yes its all down to the size and shape of the air intakes on the model some sound better than others.

Just a quick update for those who are interested, Looking around at threads on similar models I've ordered a Jetfan 90 with HET 700-68-1400. Also getting it assembled and balanced by eJet

Kind of figure get the best available as it should last for this and other projects

This thread has sparked an interest in EDF for me, i want the Drakken with the 90mm 12 blade EDF unit, will it have that same turbine like so do you think? My last EDF was the Hobbyking stinger and it was underpowered, and too high pitched for my liking.
