Points gap definitely affects timing all other things being equal..set the gap correct at the high point of the cam, then set the timing correct by rotating the points assy around the cam shaft...gap affects timing but timing angle doesn't affect gap....
- which have you settled on? - the primary side / LPF / Zener or the Hall effect sensor?
