https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alliott_Verdon_Roe "He then began to build a series of flying models"

Sydney Camm - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "his first interest in aeronautics was spurred on by his membership in the Windsor Model Aeroplane Club."

I reckon you should cut the old model plane flyers some slack. Without them we might all be speaking German...

It's really bad how they seem to have no interest in helicopters what so ever , but they are happy to take our money every year.
And before anyone says 'write an article then' it won't work as they are stuck in there ways and probably won't budge!
The mag is just full of nostalgia that is only of interest to a select few.

Still waiting to hear from anyone who has submitted a helicopter related article that has been rejected ...

You see the material that BMFA members write and submit.

I can't begin to understand the claims of 'no interest in helicopters', what exactly are you seeing the BMFA do for other parts of the RC world that they don't do for helicopters?

They support heli only clubs in the same way they do every other club, and they 'take our money every year' mostly to provide the insurance that members all benefit from.

I always read mine from cover to cover as: a) I am old enough to remember most of the fixed wing planes and old equipment they show, b) I have paid for it, so it must be read!! c) this month its special because it has the Nationals booking form in it, allowing me to book the camping at Barkston for the bank holiday weekend and watch the F3C, Sportsman's, scale and F3N helicopter competitions - so they do recognise our branch of the sport

I believe Kev Davies took up that challenge and sent in an article about heli engine tuning that was refused after the last issue, hence my question about the email reply earlier. ?

... and some heli clubs don't allow fixed wing, neither is controlled or mandated by the BMFA though, that is down to the individual club.

If that is the case then it is the first time it has happened to my knowledge, can the article be posted here (if it hasn't already been and I've missed it)?
