I always read it to play "spot the heli" I have found 2 so far.

bmfa must be good for us, otherwise why would we insure with them it's not for the mag has the bmfa ever released statistics of model types flown by members ie plane/car /boat/helis etc might make interesting reading and help adjust the contant

Most amusing that the usual suspects here get irate when there's no heli content in the BMFA mag, then shout that everything they want is on the web...

Im not complaining. Like Ray id opt out and donate my money to charity. Ive also tried to send in articles. They are just not interested at BMFA towers in the mag or the content therein. Which to be fair isnt really a bad thing if they are aiding the hobby actively. But personally I see no point in the mag if they wont accept articles, or cater for all sectors of the hobby.

I happen to know the BMFA club support officer has spent the day travelling to and meeting at a heli only club, actively trying to help the club keep its site.

They do accept submissions for publication, they just have to be suitable for the format.

I'm not even sure there is any real cost involved in the magazine as I seem to recall it is advertising funded, so there is no 'saving' to be made by not sending you your copy.

OK so may I ask those of you who have posted derogatory comments how many of you have bothered to read the BMFA handbook and know the Air Navigation Order or just threw it in the bin probably very few I think it's time you all concentrated your minds on more interesting posts that are to the benefit of forum members

Please don't mix BMFA operations with its magazine... The BMFA itself I think is great, they've done a lot for all areas of the hobby... 10/10 for that side of things.

My issue is just the magazine, nothing more than that, just the magazine.. its rubbish, outdated and regurgitates the same old tissue & balsa vintage models that few care about.

Whatever useful information that's contained in it can be found online anyway.

Members from this forum have approached them, offered to do them something heli related and it gets ignored. Then the same old rubbish still gets pumped out months later. That kinda proves whoever writes the mag is biased or something.

hm .. actually page 4 into 5 were quite interesting, so was the FPV part ... but the rest didn't attract me much to be honest - however it took me 18 minutes this time ... took a good few bits from it this time - so was ok ...
