Page 8 "The new BMFA Website Clubfinder". Lots of clubs in there fly helis. clubmap.bmfa.org. Useful for heli people. The active BMFA membership is skewed away from submitting articles about helis. That may be because there aren't many people who fly helis compared to all the other disciplines. Producing a magazine isn't easy and the content reflects the interest of the members. There are probably opportunities for those who want to help with the mag.Flasher 450 Sport. Assan GA250 with 520 tail servo, MKS DS450 cyclic.

Mark I submitted my engine rebuild thread, they rejected it, cant remember the exact words cos I deleted the emailOriginally posted by Mark_T View PostStill waiting to hear from anyone who has submitted a helicopter related article that has been rejected ...
You see the material that BMFA members write and submit.
I can't begin to understand the claims of 'no interest in helicopters', what exactly are you seeing the BMFA do for other parts of the RC world that they don't do for helicopters?
They support heli only clubs in the same way they do every other club, and they 'take our money every year' mostly to provide the insurance that members all benefit from. Some say my left nipple is the shape of a Raptor canopy.......... I'm not an FPV user but I think the FPV series has been technically interesting if not a bit heavy. I saw the guy who does the articles at a fly-in at Moira, Leicestershire at the weekend. (Plane and Heli fly-in I might add).__________________________________________

Kev's engine rebuild thread was excellent and would be ideal for a magazine to publish, but their main interest seems to be in vintage planks.. where carbon fibre is a swear word. They are not interested in doing any proper Heli stuff and thats how it is, its borderline junk mail imo.
Even most plank fliers fly more upto date stuff and may only be partially interested in it - I'd love know the facts, out of how many sent out get binned, skim-read or read fully.Goblin 500 SportMatt

OK, I can understand why they would have rejected that one.Originally posted by KevDavies View PostMark I submitted my engine rebuild thread, they rejected it, cant remember the exact words cos I deleted the email
It was a great thread, but to print the rather necessary photos at a size that would be useful would have taken far too much space.
This is a good example of something that is much better on-line rather than in print.

Why is it that everytime a mag comes out, the same old nonsense thread appears on here?
It's laughable.
Everyone wants someone else to do the work, and gets annoyed when it doesn't happen.
It's sad really, but it does show how lazy heli people are I guess.
For info, the BMFA are helping (in a fairly large way) to fund the travel costs for the F3N (3D Helicopter) Team to go and compete in the World Championships in Poland this year. To me that shows a distinct interest in helicopters, rather than a lack of it.

Mine were turned down via this forum during discussing them before even writing them the last time this topic came up, all because the article would require a disclaimer, as if you never see articles in it that have them.....Originally posted by Mark_T View PostStill waiting to hear from anyone who has submitted a helicopter related article that has been rejected ...Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I think the BMFA should offer an 'opt out' option and donate the money its cost to produce and post the mag to a suitable charity (air ambulance)
I'd certainly chose this option if available as would many of my club mates.

I stand by what i said about the magazine though, its not a good read if like me, all you are interested in is model helicopters and not planes.
As for being lazy and not contributing to the magazine, Watch this space.....

we the recent interest in wings I will see what I can make out of it this time ... simply saying adjusting the interest may change the reception of the mag - which sometimes had some marketing that lead to further investigation or mentioned a few events to look out for ...Sev
