Nah, they're lying through their teeth, they can't compete so they're trying to scam you into doing business with them, if they can't move with the times, and make use of the internet to do business then they have no right to complain about those that do and certainly not lie about it.Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I ordered 2 lipos from HK at the UK warehouse and had nothing but trouble with them wanting to verify my address with a Copy of my credit card, which i did and even then it took ages to confirm my address. 10days later and still no verification I got fed up and spoke to their "online chat" and they were as much use as a chocolate tea pot, threatened to cancel my order if they couldnt sort it out by the end of the day and they just cancelled my order rather than try sort it out! LOL! then they said it would take 3weeks to process my refund!!! WHAT A BUNCH COMEDIANS! So in short, I will rather pay that little bit more from Fastlads, QuickUk, Robotbirds and get a 2nd to none Service! ************Rant over************

Well, I have no idea what happened there. I have had no such trouble and had no issues at all ordering from both Hong Kong and UK. I even had a Lipo arrive with one of the wires detached and they just replaced it. Told me I could keep the faulty one so I will just solder the wire back on and I will have a free lipo. They are slow in responding to customer service issues but I think that the cost saving is worth a little hassle now and then... mind you, I don't blame anyone who'd prefer not to risk it and to buy from UK shops.Paul

couldnt agree more. Their service is nothing short of a gamble. Many have had no issues at all, I've had nothing but pain from them.Originally posted by wadders View PostI ordered 2 lipos from HK at the UK warehouse and had nothing but trouble with them wanting to verify my address with a Copy of my credit card, which i did and even then it took ages to confirm my address. 10days later and still no verification I got fed up and spoke to their "online chat" and they were as much use as a chocolate tea pot, threatened to cancel my order if they couldnt sort it out by the end of the day and they just cancelled my order rather than try sort it out! Buying from HobbkyKing UK Warehouse????
People say this as if buying from the local hobby store is any different. Normally the LHS is run by the grumpiest old codger you will every meet. Trying to complete his pension fund with every battery he sells. Trying to sell you what he thinks is best from the completely limited stock that he's had on the shelf for the last 10 years.
A few are different and I am a big fan of Fastlads, midland, quick and align-trex.co.uk. but they sure are not the rule in this country. And even these companies don't have a review system and forum where you can openly beat on the products you don't like.
I have to say that I have had nothing short of excellent service from hobbyking every time I have dealt with them. Especially when things were not right. Duff batteries and a charger that failed. They just sorted it out in the time frames they said. Yes there was a wait. But in my case they were replying from the other side of the world.
They have also made this hobby accessible to a lot of people especially from a battery perspective. Medium top kit at bottom dollar.
How many people are now flying due to their 450 and or 500 Helis. At least half of the club I am a member of. Admittedly they now fly mikado, SAB align etc bit most still use turnigy batteries. I really wish people would stop beating on them. They have made a difference.

Buying from HobbkyKing UK Warehouse????
Like I said "luck of the draw", I'm speaking from my own crap experience not doubting some ppl have had great service! I for one will continue to support the uk suppliers.Originally posted by bpgoa View PostPeople say this as if buying from the local hobby store is any different. I've had two orders placed with HK. First one for 3 lipos which they sent me one of them. I jumped through their hoops of taking pictures and weighing packaging and still waited 3 weeks before being forced to open a PayPal dispute. Another 3 weeks and I finally got my money back. After opening the dispute, they refused to look into my missing lipos until I closed it.
I just gave them a second go with some lipos for my 130x. 24 hours after placing the order on a 24hour postal service and having paid immediately. My order still showed as unpaid! I chase them and it changes to being processed. Nearly two days later and no notice of dispatch on my requested 24 hour postal.
hk customer service is beyond shocking. I appreciate many have had good experiences but both of mine have been a pain and for what, to save a few quid.
to put it in perspective....I placed an order with wheelspin models yesterday at 3.30pm for my 130. 11.30am this morning I had received my model. I place an order for some bits with fast lads this morning around 10.30am. I realise I wanted something else adding to the order at 2ish so call them to try and add it. I'm told I can't as its left the building already on the lunchtime collection and already on the way.
theres a lot to be said for supporting your local (British) suppliers. I'm all for regular ordering from regular suppliers who will get to know you. They need your business and treat you as such. HK are a company of box shifting, arses who don't give a monkeys if you cancel, go else where or tell your mates they are crap.

Ordered a Lipo from UKWH late Sunday evening - on my doorstep Tuesday morning (3000 6 cell for under twenty five quid delivered)
Must have spent over a grand with them in the last few years and must have saved the same amount again. Shame that I've heard that they're not welcome at many of the shows!Last edited by cuban8; 22-05-2013, 10:03 PM.HK500, HK450, HK250, TT Mini Titan, SR120, MSR, MCX.

I accept that many people have had bad or even very bad experiences with HK and that is unacceptable and I can certainly understand that once you have had problems then you would be silly not to have reservations about buying from them again. However, in this age of the internet and worldwide markets it is a fact of life that China and other cheaper manufacturing centres of the world can not compete alongside the likes of Fast Lads et al. Bad customer service is not acceptable and they really must change that if they want to become universally accepted but they are doing everything else right... great choice, low price, super info on their products... how many other companies in the UK or the rest of the world offer so much in the way of video help and marketing? Even the product quality seems to be improving and rivals that of many of the traditional companies.
I have had good experiences with them so far but clearly I have been lucky. Others have been less fortunate. But bad CS aside, HK is great for us consumers in almost every other respect I can think of. Not making them welcome at shows is nothing short of sour grapes and I find that sad. Their are encouraging other manufacturers and traders to lower their prices and that has to be good overall. We cannot just ignore them though. They are here and here to stay so we should find a way to encourage them to improve the areas that are bad and shutting them out won't do that.
You can buy from them or not... that is the beauty of free choice... but we cannot ignore they are here and what that means to the UK model marketplace. I would encourage them at shows. It gives us all a more direct channel to air our concerns over bad CS and any other gripes we might have with them.Paul
