  • hirobo shuttle tail setup

hi, in the hirobo shuttle zxx instuction manual it says to set the tail pitch change lever that runs through the gear box to the middle of its available travel. but that WONT put the lever at 90 degrees to the boom and the blades look to be at 0 degrees pitch. BUT IT HAS EQUAL AMOUNTS OF TRAVEL EACH WAY.

now to put the lever at 90 degrees to the boom wont leave any travel left one way and with the servo moving equal amounts each way it will bind and stall. not what i want.

so any ideas? the tail setup is the same for the z, zx, zxx and ts models i think.
    THANKS

''set the tail pitch change lever that runs through the gear box to the middle of its available travel''

    Correct way to do it.

''but that WONT put the lever at 90 degrees to the boom''

Are you talking about the lever that comes back from the pivot to the tail pitch slider, if so, that is how it should be.

''the blades look to be at 0 degrees pitch''

I think the shaft that holds the tail rotor hub has 2 indents for the locking grub screws, make sure you have the hub secured in the right place on the shaft & move it as required.

To get an idea if you have the right pitch on the tail blades, fold them together & you should have approx 30mm distance between them.

coolies! thanks. oh and i never thought of folding the blades to see if the were offset from each other!! lol.

so setting it as the book ie middle of its travel and not having the lever at 90 degrees to the boom is correct? i had it set like that before but i never was 100% sure it was right.

      thanks

oh and sorry, yes the lever that comes through the gear box that the wire pushrod joins to. if you set that to the middle of its travel then it is not 90 degrees to the boom.

the grubscrew on the output shaft is in its little locating hole.
