  • eCCPM Raptor Conversions

    HI guys

I was wondering if any one has had any experience with the CCPM conversion kits available for the Raptor.

What are the main benifits to eCCPM as opposed the the conventional way on a standard Raptor?

Would it make the helicopter easier or better to fly with this system or is it just for the 3D boys?

I understand that it is a far simpler mechanical design and thuss less weight and less to go wrong, this all sounds good to me.

So is ther any real benifit to change you raptor over with one of the kits.

    Cheers Ben

    Hi Ben,

The main benefit of ccpm over a conventional control system is that there are more than one servo operating all the functins, thus the load is shared. In a conventional system there is a servo for pitch, one for elevator and one for aileron, with ccpm, there are a number, usually three servos operating all these functions.

There are a number of reasons for sharing the load, one of which is redundancy, as if one of the three servos fails, a certain amount of control will still be maintained over the model, which should with luck be sufficient to land it safely. One of the other reasons is that especially for 3d pitch pumping stuff, if there are three servos operating the pitch, then there is three times the power for the more pitch demanding manouvres.

As for converting a raptor to ccpm, I havent personally come across anyone thats done it, I did however have an old sceadu 50 a few years ago which I built with the hirobo ccpm upgrade, I never flew it with the conventional control system so I cant tell you what the differences were in flight, just that the sceadu was pretty twitchy from what I remember, mind you I wasnt all that experienced in those days so it was probably more my flying than the model itself.

    I hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

      Hi guy's,

I'm just in the process of building a XeroG eCCPM kit, purely bling bling reason's of course. It is a very well produced piece of kit, all carbon & CNC machined, it is intended as an upgrade kit for the R30/50 V2, but I have built it up with all the parts bought as new. I would post a pic if I could work out how to.

                            Just finding my way around.

One more question, how can I go straight to my gallery without lot's of forward & back clicking

You have a no. of way's to get to your gallery, the quickest way to get your gallery is to click on the navigation bar at the top of the screen, under account in the drop down box you will see your gallery....

Pls note if you use Norton Web Assistant pop up block then you will have to unblock for this site to see it.

I'll be coding back in the icon for the posts to take people direct to your gallery.
                              Cheers
