  • Setting up new servos on a 450 ?

okay, so as some of you know, i have ordered new savox servos for my blade 450, but what sort of setting up is required, if i just plug the new ones in, level them at 90 degrees, should all be fine ??

Obviously everything will have to be levelled at 90 and the swashplate level, but will anythinng have to be set up (electronically)?

This goes for tail servo aswell ...

    Cheers

EDIT: Am i going to notice any difference in the way the heli flies with these new servos ??

    Hi Sam,

Level them out at 90 degrees using sub trim in your transmitter at mid stick (50% mid pitch).

After doing this it's best to adjust the links to get the swashplate as level as possible - within the limits of turning the links.

After this it's then a good idea to use a swashplate leveller tool and to level the swash using sub trim again. You can also level the extremes of travel such as full negative and full positive with a swashplate leveller and end point adjustments (travel adjust).

As for the tail servo you need to check which pulse width it is, check the specs and set your gyro to match. I never use any sub trim on the tail servo.

As for the difference - depends what you had before and your type of flying.

    Cheers,

    Laurence

It's a DS520 tail servo I'll be using, I can't find any specs online saying the pulse rate though :L

I currently have an EFlite G210 MEMS gyro that I'll be using with the DS520, so i am guessing i 'set the gyro to match' on the TX ?? If so, how ??

      Thanks again

The Pulse rate for the ds520 is 1520 and the freq is 333Hz

Just pick Digital (DS) Servo Mode on the gyro (as in the manual you listed above) and enjoy .
