  • AUCTION

    Hi Guys.
What has happened to the support we should be giving to our auction site, surely we all have tons of unwanted gear littered about, and it surely makes sense to turn these items into cash and at the same time give a novice the availability of some cheap usable spares to get him up and going.
I have tried myself to give some support to Stuart in this venture, but if I have to rely on your generousity for my bread (Chappers Excepted), I will end up eating grass for a Sunday lunch.
COME ON let us all have a sort out and give his auction site a lift,it will provide some light hearted fun in the bidding stakes, and lets face it ,Stuart has given us all the chance for a free initial ride so it will not cost you a penny.
COME ON CHAPS START TURNING THAT OLD GEAR OUT.
    GOOD FLYING.
    Mo.

Not keen on Auctions Mo - prefer to sell locally where the handing over of money/goods is done in person.
To many stories from E-Bay about fraud!

      Hello Dave.
Could not agree more with your opinion of e-bay, but I am sure you cannot paint everyone with the same brush.
I look on this site, and the contributees to the site, as being a group of trustworthy people, and I am sure you would have no problems in any transaction entered from Stuarts auction.
I believe it was Stuarts intention to start this auction so everyone could have an alternative, and a cheaper one at that to e-bay, and to some of the underhand tricks undoubtably played on that site.
Again if I speak for myself in my dealings with e-bay, I will tell you that apart from a very small sedgment who use that site, I have been fortunate to have had dealings with some very nice people.
Give it a try Dave',it does not have to be an expensive item, and it will help get the auction up and running,I am sure you will have plenty of bits and pieces that are not worth the effort to sell from home, and that would otherwise be binned that could be of service to someone.
GIVE IT A TRY DAVE AND LETS HAVE SOME SUPPORT.
      GOOD FLYING.
      Mo.

I think the main thing is that ebay does make good money sometimes even crazy money. I normally have a few bits n pieces on ebay (not always heli related) as it helps keep the sting out of the heli costs

That said however I am considering adding some items to keep the interest there...

          Hello Deadcalm.
There certainly is some money to be made on e-bay, but you will find this is only on non helli related stuff,it makes my mind boggle at times over the prices some of the stuff fetches, and can only think that a lot of people have far more money than sense.
I have studied the helicopter gear that has been sold on e-bay, and you will find that this does not fetch near the prices of the non helli related items.
You also have to rely on the honesty of the seller for a fair and accurate description of the goods, although it may show up in a photo as looking good, the reality can be quite different.
I can vouch for this for I have been caught a few times, and it is this issue that Stuart was attempting to address, and at the same time give the punter better value for his money.
It stands to reason that belonging to this site and being in some respect familiar with other members, you will be far more secure in the knowledge that whatever you bid on will be honestly described, and guaranteed to be as described.
Again being only an auction for helicopter related parts, this will be a select auction in this respect, so could be first the place to look for that elusive or low cost replacement to help get you flying again.
I hope you do manage to find some redundant gear and have a go Deadcalm',it is only in the volume of people participating that you can achieve any success in this type of venture.
          All The Best.
          GOOD FLYING.
          Mo.
