  • Phoenix, I love you

There have been posts asking how accurate/effective Phoenix flight sim is. I can't answer that question but one thing I can say is that without it I would have thrown my heli in the bin as an uncontrollable piece of crap and be the proverbial workman blaming his tools. Whether or not Phoenix reflects each heli is irrelevant to a noob, the important thing is it gives the novice confidence. I have been doing things on Phoenix that are only in my dreams with a real heli but only due to the fear of repair costs. My hovering is much improved and I now feel that if my real heli shot off due to a mistake I could bring it back under control rather than slam the throttle to zero instead as I used to do.

Phoenix cost me just under eighty quid but I can safely say that with the shallower learning curve that simulation provides Phoenix has cost me nothing at all.

Buy it, or something like it if you are a noob. Really, don't even hestitate.
