Gents. Just a reminder and don't need to make a long discussion about Lipo's and the cold weather - they don't like it.
Nearly lost my T-rex 500 today when during the second part of a 'wing-over' the motor powered down.......
Luckily I didn't panick (too much) pulled back to 'Auto' pitch and hoped for the best and after a couple of seconds as it was still responding to controls I tried a pitch up and it responded. Obviously pitching down let the battery voltage rise enough for the controller to reset. Damn close as it was only about 20 foot up and why does the motor always cut when pointing and heading into the gound........
After that no further problem though I only did close hovering playing about and didnt attemp high loads....................
One point is that I run a very high capacity battery 6000mAh as I use the heli for aerobatics and not 3D and even after 10 minutes the battery was barely luke warm.
So remember keep them lipo's warm or allow them a minute of hovering to warm themselves up before doing anthing high powered.
