  • At ruddy last, she flies.

    It's been a long uphill struggle, after that last 'in' she just wouldn't seem to go back together right, finished today with final bits and here's what went in total:

    main shaft
    feathering shaft
    blades
    tail belt
    tail boom
    main rotor to tail gear

    That last bit was the bit that was killing me, it wouldn't stay straight no matter what, figured the belt had stretched as the tail servo was all the way back once the control rod was connected, I couldn't see how that was going so wrong, put a new belt in this morning and still the same

    Then noticed the belt wasn't meshed to the gear on the drive, so took it out and it had a huge crack down the gear that should hold the belt. No wonder she wasn't flying right (well if you can call sitting on the ground spinning anti-clockwise flying).

    Finally she's repaired, and just in time for a lovely week.
