  • Let's see your favourite old school flying video

In the spirit of generating some random chatter - what's your favourite old school flying video? Say pre 2010 - pre flybarless and crazy power electric setups anyway.

When I started it was all about Alan Szabo for me. I loved his style when he flew Raptors and this video of him flying an Avant Aurora (my dream model at the time) just stepped it up again and blew me away with how light he made the heli appear and how it all flowed together.

I'd still be bloody chuffed if I could do all this today and make it look so easy and relaxed..

Pretty much anything with Hiroki Ito, but F3C doesn't always get videoed very well for the aero stuff. I went looking for some old Curtis Youngblood stuff but again, the video is often really lacking. I will try to find something that's not a struggle to watch :-o

Hiroki Ito's freestyle/3D stuff is also really good!

I'd also forgotten how bad video quality was back then ... it's so easy to take high quality video for granted these days!

Eric Larson and Jason Krause videos motivated me, I've just had a trawl around the web and can't find the one I wanted to post, but it was Eric flying an MA Fury with a sound track of AC/DC Thunderstuck... Pretty sure I have it somewhere on an old HD I'll keep looking )

OK, this is not vintage or old school, but it's so OTT bonkers that you simply must see it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skZbR8TgSgM

Well that was interesting, bit gutted we didn't him auto
Nice seeing some old names mentioned from when I got into the hobby. Can't find the vids I like. Posted the Duncan ftm one before with the T-Rex 600 on 6s but can't find where I posted it? Yes I searched my posts. On an old HD (need to access it somehow) I have a vid of a guy flying an SJM Aplus 400 in the snow with beautiful day playing over the vid. Nothing special but his basic smooth 3d looked great. Also on that HD a vid of Colin who produced Like90 wooden blades for FP helis in the day flying

Yeah that river looks deep enough to make salvage of a nice heli pretty challenging!

Alongside inverted at speed is a nice view too

This was the first video to impress me. It was Jason Krause I think, demo'ing the new OS91 motor. I dont think anyone had seen 'power' like this before...and a young Alan Szabo jr stood next to him.

Another JK video. I love his smooth , skillful flying - not a fan of 'Smack'.

Okay, the master of timing and the first music flight I saw at the first 3D Champs at the LHC, still remember it like yesterday

                    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWSHzlZtWjU

The orignal track mixer, watch out for the tailslide and the timing on the last track, incredible

Not bad with a flybar and a 50 hyper. Class is permanent!
