The logo top left doesn't quite work for me. The letter spacing is too wide and makes it difficult to read. I would also look at not splitting the two mouseover menus vertically, so they are on the same level, it just feels a bit unbalanced as it is. The symmetry on the left is good but on the right it looks uneven with those buttons up top not justified to the graphic underneath. If it was me I'd have all the buttons on the same strap line.

i think it looks much neater..

but i agree with ash that the top right of it dosnt quiet look right, i think the 2 sections of navagation bar should come to together as one but apart from that... nice one stuart!

I had intended to add additional functions to the "Quick Links" arrow that gives you a drop down list of what I would see as secondary functions. As the main page still and will continue to have the recent threads many members I believe work of this first then goto new or today's posts. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
                          Cheers

I mostly use the home page (portal) which shows all recent posts, as I'm a fairly frequent visitor
If I've been away for a few days and need to catch up, I use the New Posts link and work my way through that to catch up.
I very rarely use the forum categories pages - that's probably just me

The second design is much better than the first IMO. As was mentioned, the first one seemed disjointed.
In my opinion, I think you'd be well served looking at styling an unordered list for the top menu items, rather than using images.

Also, how about running a little competition (for fun) to design a new RC Heli Addict logo - open competition for anyone to have a go, you select your favourite ten (or whatever) and then put it to the public vote for the winner?

                              Just an idea
                              Cheers
