I have sold my nitro stuff early last year and gone all electric now, a 450 and 600. still learning but i wanted the ease of plug and play, and not having to go thru all the engine tuning stuff. just slide a battery in and go.
i must say tho i absolutely love the 450. slide a battery in and off ya go. great.
but i do miss the nitro to be honest. when learning you go and have a really good session, get in the groove with it. and with nitro you get the longer flight times, repeating the manoeuvre over and over again. great practice.
And i must say, i got on really well with the raptor v2, but the 600 electric is a little frightening. its got loads more power than the raptor which is the first thing, but its instant power. so i do get what people say about the feel of the nitro.
I think one day i will have another 600 nitro. but the electrics are fantastic

So what's the current consensus guys? 18 months on, are people still flying mainly leccy, or is nitro coming back?
I'd be tempted to say that the new SAB is evidence it's making some kind of comeback, how much though is hard to say.

Yup I was thinking that too. I don't like the constant fiddling and cleaning and vibes with nitro, but I still really enjoy flying it. The flight time on my G4 is great - I'd hope so given that I'm only getting about 6-7 flights from a gallon!
haven't touched a nitro for 18 months, i could 10 minutes out of my e700 if i really wonted, 5.30 plenty enough.
Totally agree mate. The problem then though is that you have to charge at the field or have lots of packs. I don't like having loads of LiPos in the house and field charging was a PITA, even with a genny. My opinion anyway...

i have loads of packs, could go flying all day, but 2-3 flights does me lately, you can charge on car easy enough.
i am still all leccy. But missing the nitro to be honest. as i said before when u have a really good session, u can just keep pouring fuel in. with leccy, u charge all ya packs, then turn up at the field, have a bad session or it starts raining, then u gotta discharge all ya packs. PITA!!!!
I am looking for a third heli, but now i have seen the Goblin KSE's i am tempted towards another electric. But i do need nitro heli in my hanger for sure, at some point!

Nitro is where it's at, the new Goblin N is cementing that. I was flying mine at Zone and the other two flight stations also had Goblin N's in the air. Going to be a popular heli as it is bloody fantastic to fly.
